I now have a teenager and a Middle Schooler!!! YIKES!

Here is our sweet boy on his birthday in June!!!  13 already!!  I can't believe that it has been that long already.  The years pass way to fast.  I have been working on his scrapbooks this summer, I'm only 8 yrs behind, but as I look at his sweet face I am blessed to be his mom.

Another milestone is that he is now an official middle schooler!!  YIKES!  Scary and exciting at the same time.  It's only been a week, but we are giving it a try.  There are about 900 kids there and this is the first new teacher he's had in 4 yrs. 

Here he is the first day of school this last Monday......

He has enjoyed it so far.  Loves riding the little yellow bus home with a few friends.  That's the most favorite part of his day, I think.  Hopefully, he will have a great year.

I have been super duper busy this summer tutoring 17 students.  Not always everyone each week, but still kept my schedule busy.  I have most of them continuing with me this fall, but the biggest change is that I will be homeschooling one of those 1st grade students!!  I am looking forward to this new challenge, and am having fun switching into my teacher mode and trying to make my "classroom" ready for him.  We start on Monday and it should be lots of fun!

John is home with me again this year and will be helping me with my tutoring students, especially the older ones.  He was quite ill after Christmas and ended up in the hospital.  Now he is on oxygen, 24/7 and is not allowed to "work", so we have applied for disability and are awaiting the final decision, hopefully in mid-October.  Please join us in prayer for this. 

But truly, GOD has been AMAZING and provided above and beyond all that we have needed.  Can't really ask for more than that!

Hi!! We're still here.....

HEY!!  We are still here......promise!!

My life has been so crazy since Christmas and I will update soon.  JEB's birthday is next week, so I will write a huge post then.

Just wanted you to know that we are still here!!

Where do I even begin????

Well, it's been wayyyyyyy too long since I've written anything on this blog, but I guess today is as good as any to say something!

First, Merry Christmas to all of you who read this.  We are doing well.  JEB is loving school and growing like a tree!!  He's so tall now!  Reaches to my shoulder!

Jn is doing ok, but still no job.  Although now that its Christmas, schools will start looking to fill positions, so after the first of the year we will begin our search, once again.  I have been extraordinarily busy, especially since Thanksgiving.  Subbing more days than I haven't, which is great!  The new first grade teacher is expecting her first child during my school's Spring Break, so I'm hoping that I will have the opportunity to fill in for her for those 6 weeks, which will be till the end of school.  That would be such a blessing!!

Oh, and speaking of blessings???  Oh my goodness!!  God is so amazing!!  Twice, He's provided us with monetary gifts from people at our former school.  A group of students at Jn's campus, got together and provided gifts for JEB for Christmas!  We have also been blessed with a couple of other unexpected $$ gifts and have truly been blown away by GOD's goodness!!  While there are times that we wonder why we are in this place, doing this particular walk - there is NO DOUBT we are where we are supposed to be.  GOD has made that evident!!

Besides subbing, I also have 10 tutoring students that I juggle each week!!  My afternoons are very busy each day!

JEB's teacher sent this to me the other day.  He was so proud of this little plant that is growing in his cup.  She said he was so excited to send me a picture!  I asked him what it was and he got his little shy look and said, "Flower"........

He's learning so much this year and I'm so glad he loves school.

Another year has begun......

Here's my sweet boy, getting ready to leave for school yesterday.  And here he is with his teacher.  She's had him the past 4 yrs. and once more for this year.  Then it's off to MS, but we're not thinking about that yet!!  He was so excited to get started again!  He loves school and getting to see all of his friends.  Plus, he gets dropped off at the school where I used to work, because I sub and tutor there.

Can't believe he's getting so big!  He comes to my shoulders!! 

staying put....

After many months of sending resumes to many, many schools - we have ultimately decided to stay in SW GA.  It seems GOD wants us to remain in this hot, gnat-infested place for another year at least.  Our landlord couldn't wait any longer, and we decided that we really weren't in for living in the car under the bridge at the end of July so we signed another lease.

Does Jn have a full-time job come August???  Nope.  BUT our GOD has promised to be our Jehovah-Jireh and we know, Know, KNOW that HE will provide our needs.  And we do believe that a job is a NEED!  We don't know what form that will take, but something will come about.  I have already picked up another tutoring student!  We have both applied for a state certificate and we are awaiting those so that we can apply for the public sector.  Jn did have an interview 2 wks ago at a local tech college, and we haven't heard yay or nay yet.  That would be a wonderful place for Jn to jump into the college arena.

Continue to pray with us please.  If we don't have jobs, or should I say if Jn doesn't have a job, things could get quite dicey, but GOD will provide.  HE always has and HE always will.  

the Birthday Boy!!

Yesterday was JEB's 12th birthday!  Can't believe he's almost a teenager!  He's grown up so fast!  He's really grown tall this year and he's talking more plainly and saying full sentences so much more. 

We've had a lot going on these past weeks since school got out.  He's been hanging out with me, of course, but also this week was VBS at church, so he's there each morning.  He loves it, of course!

But yesterday we celebrated at home, just the 3 of us.  Sort of low key.  He wanted a Hulk cake, so we got one and he got a couple of new puzzles and a coloring book and of course, Ironman and Hulk figures to play with!  He was very happy and excited!!

Jn and I are so thankful that GOD chose us to be his parents and wouldn't trade it for the world!!  He's such a loving little boy and I love his tender, sweet heart!!
